Senior 3D Artist

Position Summary

The Senior 3D Artist visualizes and creates high quality models for characters, weapons, and hero assets for the environment. He/She will also assist the Art Lead in maintaining the established art style of the project and meet the aesthetic and technical requirements of Acony.

The position requires an artist who can demonstrate excellent visual design skills and also versatility in all fields of 3D asset creation.

Position Responsibilities

  • Undertake research, produce mood boards and collaborate in the conceptual development of assets
  • Creation of high quality, efficient in game assets utilizing high and low poly modeling techniques
  • Development of high quality in game material shaders
  • Follow & maintain technical guidelines, data package structure, and customization rules
  • Support other areas of art production where required, assist in level production, lighting etc
  • Assist art lead with task planning and maintaining pipelines
  • Produce documentation as and when required to assist and improve production

Position Requirements

  • 5+ years industry experience and a recognized qualification in art or related field
  • Ability to translate concept artwork or reference images into 3D game assets efficiently and within game engine specifications
  • Familiarity with high resolution modeling, next generation shader and texture creation techniques and a high capacity to learn new tools

Technical Requirements

  • Strong proficiency with main art pipeline tools, Maya, Z-Brush, Adobe Photoshop, and 3DS Max where required
  • Good proficiency with Unreal Editor 3 toolset

Senior Animator (Unreal 3 experience)

Position Summary

The senior character animator will be responsible for animating in-game assets, specializing in characters and other animated figures.

Position Responsibilities

  • Animate and rig characters using modeling software
  • Demonstrate solid productivity and ability to meet milestones
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with the team
  • Establish or follow technical guidelines for character art creation
  • Resolve artistic discrepancies promptly and professionally with the Art Director and the Production team
  • Solve problems and consistently present sound solutions to technical issues
  • Perform special projects as assigned

Position Requirements

  • 5+ years industry experience and three or more complete development cycles in a similar role
  • A BA degree in 3D art/ animation
  • Exceptional understanding of animation theory
  • Ability to animate characters (and objects) to an extremely high level of quality in a 3D software package
  • Experience using motion capture data and preparation for in-game application
  • Ability to animate realistic human motions
  • Strong sense of weight and timing
  • Ability to work in a non-linear fashion
  • Ability to create compelling stylized/heroic motion
  • Strong proficiency in 3D software package required, XSI preferred
  • An overwhelming passion for playing and developing games

Technical Requirements

  • Proficiency in Unreal a must
  • Proficiency in XSi, knowledge in Maya is a plus

Game Programmer

Position Summary

The Game Programmer develops various game related functionality for PC and Consoles (controls, camera movement, game rules, audio, physics, performance optimizations) in C++ and scripting languages.

Position Responsibilities

  • Designing, Defining and Developing the next generation of multiplayer internet game functionality, on top of multiple platforms
  • Providing hands-on technical expertise to define and develop networked simulation techniques
  • Interacting closely with designers, artists, and animators to bring the vision of the game to life
  • Co-Developing tools with artists, animators, designers and our core programming staff
  • Creating good quality, performance-minded code
  • Exploration of new practices to continually improve the quality of game development within the company

Senior UI Artist

Position Summary

Acony is looking for a Senior UI Designer with Flash and ActionScript expertise. The role will be fundamental in designing and implementing a new UI and further developing existing assets.

Position Responsibilities

  • Contributing to the art vision for the user interface
  • Utilizing ActionScript 3 expertise to create a dynamic, innovative and highly interactive user interface
  • Creating a substantial portion of Flash-generated UI assets based on the established art vision. Working on these assets from initial concept to final implementation and testing
  • Working closely with all major stakeholders in the work (Art, Design, Code, Audio and UX (User Experience)) to ensure all requirements for the UI are gathered and well understood
  • Working within the UI Team but reporting directly to the Art Lead and with regular art direction from the Art Director
  • Creating clear, concise and accessible documentation of all work being created

Position Requirements

  • An excellent eye for colour, shape, composition and iconography
  • An extremely good understanding of the fundamentals of good UI design in terms of the entire user experience
  • Being an expert in Adobe Flash CS4
  • Being an expert in ActionScript 3e
  • The ability to apply a high level of innovation and creativity in its use
  • An excellent understanding of the full pipeline for getting UI assets into a game engine
  • Enjoy working across multiple disciplines
  • Capability of conveying important information to all relevant stakeholders in the work including designers, Art Director, graphics programmers, production staff, and company Senior Executives
